Ship 42 members have the opportunity to explore large and small boat sailing, canoeing and kayaking, windsurfing, and waterskiing. It is a co-educational unit with ages 14 and up with a common interrest in water sports. Ship members annually conduct the DNR Boater Safety course as a communty sevice project.
Lake Mendota is our home port with small boats at Warner Park and a slip at Mariner's Inn. In addition to sailing locally members have competed in Regional and International Sea Scout Regattas, and cruised the Florida Keys, and the Apostle Islands. This summer's live aboard cruise is back to the Apostle Islands. Sailing lessons in small boats are every Monday afternoon, large boats on Wednesday evenings, and casual race night is at Warner Park on Thursday evenings. Qualified skippers can sail anytime with a buddy and adult supervision.
